Uplighting

Uplighting.

The room you booked, lit the way you pictured it. Drag to see the difference.

The lit room is a photograph. The unlit view is a rendering of the same room without uplighting.

Built in

Every package comes lit.

Wireless fixtures around the edge of the room, colour matched to your flowers or your linens rather than to a name on a swatch, and changed through the night so dinner and dancing do not look the same.

The Reception

Uplights in your colours, around the room.

The Signature

Enough to carry a full ballroom.

The Premier

A full wash of the room, shifting colour from dinner to dancing.

Beyond the ballroom

More lights, more room to be creative.

The ballroom is where uplighting starts, not where it has to stop. With more fixtures, our team gets to think about the whole evening.

  • The entrance

The doorway and the path to it, so the evening begins before anyone is inside.

  • The outside

The building itself, washed from the lawn. The castle above is lit exactly that way.

  • The details

A warm glow in an empty fireplace, a single colour on a staircase, the bar in its own light. Small touches that photograph beautifully.

Questions

What people ask before booking it

What is uplighting, exactly?
Small light fixtures placed on the floor around the edge of the room, pointing up the walls. They wash the whole space in colour. It is the single cheapest change you can make to how a room feels, and it is the thing people mean when they say a venue looked "transformed".
What do the fixtures actually look like?
Round units roughly the size of a dinner plate, sitting flat against the wall at floor level. They are wireless, so there are no cables taped across your floor. In photographs you see the colour on the wall, not the equipment making it.
How many do we need for our room?
Every wedding package includes them: 12 with The Reception, 20 with The Signature, and up to 40 with The Premier, which washes the whole room. Send us your venue and we will tell you which count suits it.
Can we pick the colours?
Yes. The fixtures mix red, green, blue, and amber, which covers most of what you will find on a colour swatch. Send us a photo of your linens or your flowers and we will match to that rather than to a name.
Can the colour change during the night?
Yes, and it should. A warm amber during dinner and something deeper once the dancing starts makes the room feel like it moved with the evening. We can also light different parts of the room differently.
Does it help our photographs?
Noticeably. Flat overhead lighting makes function rooms look like function rooms. Colour on the walls gives your photographer depth and separation to work with, especially in wide shots of the room.
